Question

  • What does "Validated" mean on the Onomondo Coverage page?

  • Why does "Validated" networks not show up in the platform

Answer

These technologies can be used on these networks. There is proof that these "Validated" technologies are accessible and functional. They are independently tested every 2-3 months, using probes deployed in major cities.

Beware there are limitations of "Validation" status compared to the green check:

  1. LTE-M / NB-IoT coverage may be limited to certain areas of the country.

  2. No Troubleshooting of connectivity issues related to these technologies with the local operators (due to lack of SLA covering that technology).

  3. Technologies can be withdrawn by operator without warning.

Therefore, as mentioned, it is not guaranteed that devices will be able to use "Validated" technologies, please test and assess risk before utilizing these technologies. Technologies can only be guaranteed for those list as Live with the green check mark (and the technology is shown on the Network Marketplace section of the platform).
