Question

  • What does "Cancel Location" mean in signaling?

Answer

CancelLocation is a message used to tell the local network's home subscriber server to remove the subscriber’s current location.

  • Normally, this happens when he device is de-registering from the network or being re-registered somewhere else.

  • The CancelLocation request is always triggered when you deactivate a SIM in the Onomondo app.

  • It’s essentially a “please delete this location record” message in GSM MAP or Diameter.
