Step 1: Necessary information for setting up an Onomondo SIM with AWS
The Onomondo AWS SIM Connector requires a CA key, CA certificate, and Endpoint from your AWS instance to operate.
We use a Certificate Authority (CA) instead of certificates and keys from AWS IoT Core due to our use of just-in-time provisioning, which requires CAs. You can retrieve the CA key and CA certificate via the AWS Certificate Manager or create your own.
To retrieve the Endpoint, go to the AWS IoT Core console at console.aws.amazon.com/iot. Then, click Settings in the navigation pane on the left. Under 'Device Data Endpoint', copy the Endpoint value.
Step 2: Set up an AWS IoT Core Connector in Onomondo
Now that you have your AWS IoT Core information ready, you’re now able to create an AWS IoT Core Connector in the Onomondo app.
Log in to the Onomondo app https://app.onomondo.com.
Go to 'Connectors' and click 'New connector'.
Give your connector a name (e.g., AWS Connector) and select the connector type called 'AWS IoT Core'.
Add the CA key and CA certificate to their respective fields.
Enter the Endpoint into the Endpoint field.

Step 3: Attach your new connector to your SIMs
You’re now ready to attach the AWS Connector to your SIMs.
In the Onomondo app, go to 'SIMs'. Find a SIM you want to connect, and click 'Go to SIM'.
Click 'Edit SIM' (the pencil icon) and add your connector (e.g., AWS Connector).
Click 'Save'.
Your SIMs will now automatically provision in AWS IoT Core when they come online, seamlessly and securely transmitting data as messages.
