Onomondo SIMs are always roaming, even in one country; roaming must be active.

Environment

  • Device: applicable to all

  • SIM type: applicable to all

  • Onomondo Core Network

Question

  • Why does roaming need to be enabled even when the SIM is being used in a single country?

Answer

Roaming must be enabled for Onomondo SIMs regardless of the number of countries involved because:

  • Onomondo SIMs are not bound to any single country or home network.

  • This means the SIM is technically always considered “abroad,” even when stationary in one country.

Cause

Unlike traditional SIMs, which are associated with a specific home country and operator, Onomondo SIMs are built without these constraints.

This design enables true global connectivity through a virtualized core network model. As a result, all connections (regardless of location) are technically roaming connections.

Therefore, the roaming setting must remain enabled at all times for connectivity to function.
