Question

  • What is the difference between data limits, usage alerts and cost alerts?

Answer

Each of these events corresponds to a different scenario, and each of these are designed to help you with both data management as well as cost management.

  • Data usage limits are triggered whenever the SIM reaches a data limit within a given period (defined in MB).

    • The event will be displayed as: "The SIM has exceeded its data limit for its defined data limit period. Data is now being blocked." in the Network Logs.

    • The SIM will not be able to attach a data connection until you reset the limit or until the usage period ends.

  • Data usage alerts are triggered whenever the SIM reaches a usage alert threshold within a given period (defined in MB).

    • The event will be displayed as: "The SIM has exceeded its data limit alert threshold for its defined data limit period." in the Network Logs.

  • Cost alerts are triggered whenever the SIM reaches a set cost threshold (defined in EUR).

    • The event will be displayed as: "The SIM has exceeded its cost alert threshold for its defined cost alert period." in the Network Logs.

Use Onomondo Webhooks to get notified of these events outside of the Onomondo app.
