How to identify which Tag / subset of SIMs had a spike in data usage?

There are multiple ways to find out. Use the app's Usage features are retrieve usage records from the API.

Question

  • How to identify which Tag / subset of SIMs had a spike in data usage?

  • Which Tag caused the spike I see in the monthly usage metrics?

Answer

There are multiple ways to identify the SIMs / Tags with most usage.

In the Onomondo app:

  1. Download a monthly usage report (individual SIM breakdown).

  2. Filter the Usage tab by individual Tags.

  3. Sort the SIMs table by MTD usage (descending).

Workaround

Fetch usage records for specific dates via Onomondo API.

  1. Create an API key.

  2. Send a GET Usage request, filtering by day, e.g. time:2020-01-30.

  3. Convert the JSON response into CSV.

  4. Sort through records to identify sessions and SIMs with highest usage.
