Which MCC-MNC should I set my device to?

Question

  • Which MCC-MNC should I set my device to?

  • Our devices are requiring the MNC and MCC to be hard coded into the APN settings. Which MCC/MNC should I use?

Answer

The APN should be the only required setting. Leave MCC / MNC properties blank or set to default.

If MCC-MNC fulfilment is mandatory, try either:

  • 238-77 (Onomondo),

  • 234-50, or

  • 204-16.*

*If 238-77 does not yield positive results, the selected MCC-MNC should match the IMSI prefix on the SIM. You can find the IMSI by looking at the individual SIM page in the Onomondo app.

We advise against hard-coding anything across your devices before testing the settings on a single test unit.

Cause

If the device is demanding the user to provide MCC-MNC values, it is most likely using these values to check whether the MCC-MNC match the SIM's IMSI.
