Question

  • How long are data sessions kept open on the Onomondo network?

  • How long does it take for the operator to close an active link when no data is sent by the device?

  • If the device is not sending data, will the session be kept alive?

Answer

  • Onomondo keeps each session tunnel open for 48 hours.

  • However, the local operator can have a different timeout logic in place.

  • The timeout can vary between operators.

πŸ’‘ To avoid issues, you can set the "network ping" timeout on the device. The device then sends a 0xFF byte to your server every X minutes to keep the link open.
