Question

  • My module sees primary DNS server set to: x.x.x.x. Is this server provided by Onomondo?

  • How is DNS IP information sent to the module, or known by the module?

  • How is Onomondo's DNS IP retrieved by the module?

Answer

Yes, the DNS server IP x.x.x.x is provided by Onomondo. When your device connects to the network, our PGW assigns DNS server IPs during the tunnel establishment. These IPs are transmitted to your module via signaling messages, providing accurate domain name resolution.

To monitor and verify this process, you can utilize the Signaling Logs feature in the Onomondo app. By analyzing these logs, you can confirm the assignment of DNS server IPs to your module.
